The Roundhouse is a previously listed railway engine shed of grade II located in London chalk form. Now it has been transformed into a best venue for occasions, concerts and performing various arts. This was initially constructed in the year 1847. The construction work was done by the London and North Western Railway. This was built as a roundhouse in form of a circular building with a railway turntable,however it was used only for this reason for just ten years and after that is was being utilized as a warehouse for a long period of time. After that the building was demolished before the Second World War, it was closed for a long time. After about 25 years the building was reopened in the year 1964 in form of a venue for events and performing arts. Then the building was established as a theatre. In the year 1983, the control of the building was handed over by the Greater London Council to the Camden London Borough Council. Till then Centre 42 found short of funds and the building was unutilized in anticipation of a native businessman bought the building in the year 1996.It again shut down in the year 2004 for the reason of redevelopment. In the year 2006, the Argentine show Fuerzabruta was started there. Till the year 2006, this place has hosted many festivals and events too. In the year 2009, a concert took place in which Bob Dylan did the performance. At the same time a music iTunes Festival was promoted by iTunes. In the year 2010, Roundhouse Studios put a record label. In the year 1964, the building was converted to center 42, and there invented a scheme of transforming the building into a long term place for cultural shows and cinemas. The building was funded by many actors, authors and celebrities. Later in the year 1966, the place became a place for arts. In the year 1996, the building was utilized for the promotion of Manic Street Preachers'.

The place has also been utilized as a theater for the big cinemas. In the year 1983, the building was closed due to insufficient funds. Afterwards it was taken over in 1996 by the Norman Trust which was commanded by the philanthropist Torquil Norman. In the year 1998 he established the Roundhouse Trust and started with its redevelopment. This was in co-operation with the board of trustees that contained Monty Python writer Terry Gilliam and Bob Geldof and Suggs. Later on the venue reopened for a time of two years in order to create funds and awareness for a scheme of redevelopment in connection with previous director Paul Blackman. The newly developed roundhouse will be able to accommodate up to 1,700 people seated and 3,300 people standing. The place will act as a great place for performance and a great platform for the artists. This can be a great chance for many artists and celebrities. It will be able to take in a programme that represents the anticipation and miscellany of the culture of twenty first century. This will also take in a great variety of performing arts involving digital media, circus, dance, theatre and many more. This is the place where the cycle was firstly placed. In the year 2009, the charitable circus group used the open space that was available in the Roundhouse. In the same year Bob Dylan has a great performance with his band. Moreover in the same year in the month of July Apple Computer presented the iTunes Music Festival at the same place. In the year 2010, modern-day classical music was introduced here and many musical events took place. These events also comprised performances by the very well-known London Contemporary Orchestra, The Magnets, Sam Amidon, Britten Sinfonia and many more. The building was no more just a building but a dining room and a bar was also started so that people could enjoy refreshments while watching the events. In the year 2012, Fuerzabruta came back to the place.
The Roundhouse was announced as a Heritage Site in 2010.This happened after Michael of Kent presented a Transport Trust Heritage Plaque. It is supposed to be a prominent example of railway architecture of mid-19th century. The building is built in yellow brick and is known for its unique circular shape .The unique roof has a centralized smoke outlet which is backed by cast-iron Doric columns and a structure of curved ribs. The inner space has the basic flooring and also some parts of the fragments and turntable of the old railway lines.
